The history of robotics for this originally German brand dates back to 1973, when the company launched the world’s first digitally controlled electric industrial robot—the FAMULUS. Since then, KUKA robots have been a symbol of precision, reliability, and innovation, and the company itself has set the direction for the development of industrial automation for decades.
For decades, KUKA robots have supported production in industrial plants around the world—including in Poland. They are widely used in industries such as automotive, logistics, welding, spot welding, palletizing, and machine tending. The company has a very extensive portfolio—ranging from lightweight robots with a payload of a few kilograms to heavy-duty industrial models capable of operating in harsh production environments.
Even today, despite the acquisition of the Kuka brand by Chinese capital and the relocation of a significant portion of production to Asia, Kuka robots remain popular in Poland and across Europe, primarily due to the brand’s strong reputation and historical associations with the high quality of German products.

Despite the use of proven German engineering and robust construction, KUKA robots—like any advanced industrial equipment—are susceptible to wear and breakdowns.
High workload, lack of regular maintenance, and harsh environmental conditions can lead to:
- damage to motors, gearboxes, and bearings,
- oil leaks from gearboxes and through motors
- wear or breaks in signal and power cables,

Upgrades, Repairs, and Overhauls of Kuka Robots
Kuka robots are equipped with a computer based on standard PC architecture running Windows. If you have older Kuka robots, it’s worth protecting yourself against potential hard drive or electronics failures in the control computers. Old PCs are highly prone to failure

- we manufacture our own equipment for calibrating Kuka robots
Our Kuka robot service also covers robots from previous generations.
We offer the ability to supply, manufacture, and, above all, repair parts for previous-generation robots: KRC2/KRC4.
Original spare parts may no longer be available, but we have our own warehouse of Kuka robot parts, and we are able to repair most parts.
We also handle the replacement of older-generation robots with new ones.
We replace old industrial robots with new models, which extends the service life of entire workstations and production lines while simultaneously upgrading the robot’s hardware.
During robot replacements, we perform:
- a full conversion of the robot’s software and configuration
- programming corrections, position adjustments, and software modifications
- modifications or replacement of robot bases, new tool holders, and modifications to robot-mounted accessories

Periodic Inspections and Maintenance of KUKA Robots
Many failures in KUKA robots can be predicted, and their impact on production can be minimized or even avoided, provided that you regularly maintain their technical condition. Thanks to systematic periodic inspections and preventive maintenance, we are able to detect potential problems early and prevent unplanned production stoppages.
Regular replacement of gear oil, system batteries, and drive belts, as well as cleaning and inspection of KRC2/KRC4 controllers, will ensure long-term operation of the robots.
What do we do during a KUKA robot inspection?
Every inspection is based on our many years of experience in servicing and troubleshooting KUKA robots. Drawing on our experience with robot diagnostics and troubleshooting at our customers’ sites, we can identify components requiring immediate replacement or repair during the inspection:
- We check the operation of motors, gearboxes, and brakes.
- We analyze play in the axles and bearings, the degree of wear, and the presence of leaks.
- We check the level and quality of the oil in the gearboxes.
- We inspect the condition of cables and connectors; this often allows us to diagnose a failure in advance that presents various inconsistent symptoms.
- We measure the tension of drive belts, replace them, or adjust them.
We check axle loads, overload data, and error logs from the system records.
Inspection of the KRC2, KRC4, and KRC5 controllers
During each inspection, we also clean and service the robot controller:
- We check and clean the cooling system, fans, and filters, and replace worn-out fans.
- We replace backup batteries, check voltages, and assess their condition.
- We analyze the error history and messages from the most recent operating period.
- We inspect the operator panel, safety system, and connections.
We test and document the condition of components such as KSD1 / KPP / KSP drives and others.
Documentation and backup – your data under control
During the inspection, we also back up configuration files and robot programs. We record data about the robot, serial numbers, software versions, and system settings. This allows us in the future to:
- diagnose failures more quickly,
- simulate the robot’s behavior offline,
- restore the system after memory or component failure.
After each inspection, we prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including:
- a description of the performed activities,
- a list of detected faults,
- service recommendations,
- a series of photos of critical components,
- copies of files and technical data for the robot and controller.
The customer receives access to a personal account on our service cloud, where they can always find current and archived backups as well as service documentation for their robots.
