Fanuc Robot Service

We service FANUC robots from most common generations and series—from the LR Mate series, through the popular M-1, M-6, M-10, M-20, M-710, and M-900, to large-format robots such as the R-1000 and R-2000, as well as controllers from the R3 and R-30iA/R-30iB families (including Mate and Mate Plus)

We offer technical support for robots manufactured after 2000, operating in a wide range of applications, from the most common—pick & place and handling, welding, heat sealing, casting, and palletizing—to specialized manufacturing processes.

FANUC robot service is one of our main areas of expertise. FANUC robots are valued for their precision, durability, and wide range of controllers and manipulators—however, like all industrial equipment, they require regular maintenance and service to keep the production line running and minimize unplanned downtime.

Our services are comprehensive: from regular inspections and maintenance to troubleshooting, upgrades, and extensive overhauls of robots and production stations.

Robotics Services - Fanuc Industrial Robots

Fanuc is a Japanese industrial robotics giant and a pioneer in the field of robotics in Japan. Its history dates back to the 1950s, when Fanuc began manufacturing numerical control systems for Fujitsu. In the 1970s, Fanuc became an independent company and began work on developing its first in-house robots. In the 1980s, the distinctive yellow robots bearing the Fanuc logo became a symbol of high quality and reliability.

Today, Fanuc is one of the largest and most recognizable manufacturers of industrial robots in the world, with a global distribution network and hundreds of thousands of robots installed worldwide.

  • Robot replacements and workstation upgrades: we replace obsolete robots, perform program conversions, installation, testing, and commissioning

We take care of our customers’ robots. We record and maintain a complete service history for the robots we service regularly. In the event of a breakdown or lack of documentation regarding the technical condition of the robots—you can always rely on us. We will also keep track of deadlines and inspection schedules for your robots on your behalf. For the robots we service, we plan long-term maintenance and repairs to keep your robots operational for as long as possible. Our service support is designed for years of cooperation and is comprehensive—from inspections, through troubleshooting and repairs, to production line upgrades, replacing robots with newer models, program conversions, and adapting workstations to the latest standards. We will also manage the inventory of spare parts for your robots and supply all necessary spare parts that may be needed in the future.

Why is repair and maintenance beneficial and cost-effective?

  • Repair first, replacement later. In most cases, the cost of refurbishing a component (motor, inverter, control computer) is significantly lower than purchasing a new part
  • For older-generation robots, new spare parts may not be available, and in such cases, the only option is to refurbish and repair the damaged components
  • Performing repairs on parts—even if a new part was used to fix the malfunction—allows you to build up a stock of spare parts for the robots installed in your production facility

Periodic inspections of Fanuc robots

With regular maintenance, you can further extend the trouble-free service life of Fanuc robots

Fanuc robots are known for their excellent mechanical build quality and high precision. They are top-notch equipment, but they require proper care to ensure they operate at 100% capacity for as long as possible and to prevent mechanical wear or failures from causing a decline in performance, loss of precision, or potential production downtime.

Fanuc robots feature a variety of gearboxes and drive systems. Regular replacement of lubricants in the gearboxes is particularly important. In accordance with service practices and the manufacturer’s recommendations, service intervals must be strictly adhered to and regular replacements performed, as gear lubricants and oils degrade over time, and industrial robots are devices that often operate continuously under heavy loads and at high speeds.

Lubricants and oils are used to their maximum capacity in continuous operation, which naturally causes them to degrade, leading to a deterioration in lubricating properties, a decrease in viscosity, and contamination.

In addition to replacing lubricants and inspecting their condition, during periodic inspections of Fanuc robots, you should also:

  • inspect the condition of the wiring on the manipulator at least once a year
  • regularly check for any play in the gears and bearings and verify the smoothness of movement and operation
  • in the event of frequent collisions, check for damage to mountings, tooling, and process equipment
  • regularly check the efficiency of the brakes on individual axes
  • replace the calibration backup batteries regularly to prevent loss of position and startup issues after prolonged downtime
  • ensure the controller’s cooling system remains unobstructed; check the condition of the fans and the tightness of connections

Failure to perform regular maintenance on Fanuc robots may lead to:

  • damage to motors, gearboxes, and bearings,
  • oil or grease leaks from gearboxes and through motors
  • wiring wear and breaks in the power supply wires to motors or measurement systems, which often results in encoder errors or power supply errors
  • frequent breakdowns and unplanned production stoppages
  • increased backlash in gearboxes, motor gears, and bearings, which can lead to reduced precision and position repeatability issues
  • failure to detect collision damage, potentially leading to failures—such as mechanical damage to encoders, torn cables, damaged seals, or damage to motor gears or gearboxes

Regular periodic robot inspections are the most effective method for preventing failures and maintaining the technical condition of robots.

Regular servicing of FANUC robots is the key to longevity, precision, and continuous production. We offer comprehensive services—from routine inspections and periodic lubricant changes, through diagnostics and electronics repairs, to comprehensive overhauls and robot replacements. We rely on the manufacturer’s documentation and years of experience.

FAQ – FANUC Robot Service

Our service coverage is not limited to the manipulator itself; it also includes the controller, control panel, and error log monitoring. In addition, during inspections, we also check the condition of the gripper’s wiring and report any visible damage to the equipment, but our service focuses on the Fanuc robot system.

Yes—we perform detailed diagnostics on controllers, including an analysis of system errors and robot operation logs. This allows us to quickly identify the cause of the failure and select the appropriate repair method. In many cases, this helps avoid costly replacement of controller components and potential failures of the manipulator.

Yes—we provide rapid technical support in the event of sudden breakdowns. Depending on the situation, we can perform initial remote diagnostics and immediately prepare for an on-site intervention. For regular customers, we offer extended support options, including a 24/7 hotline and a guaranteed response and on-site arrival time of 12 or 24 hours from the time of the call.

Yes—remanufacturing drives and motors is one way to reduce maintenance costs. In many cases, it allows a component to be restored to full working order without having to purchase expensive parts from the manufacturer. The process includes diagnostics, repair, and final testing. Motor failures are very common, and it makes sense to repair damaged components rather than buying new ones every time.

Yes—in addition to maintenance, we also offer support for robot programming and optimization. We can make changes to existing programs or adapt them to new processes. This is particularly important when production processes change.

Yes—we offer long-term partnerships in the form of service contracts. These include regular inspections, monitoring of technical condition, and a guaranteed rapid response in the event of a breakdown. This allows customers to better plan their maintenance. With service contracts, billing can be on a flat-rate basis or after work is completed. Throughout the duration of the contract, maintenance costs remain fixed and predictable.
