We service ABB robots from the S4, S4C, S4CPLus, IRC5, and OmniCore generations—that is, all robots manufactured after 1994, including those in the Obsolete and Legacy lifecycle stages.

ABB is a robotics brand with a long and distinguished history.

The former ASEA was one of the world’s first robot manufacturers and, since the 1960s, has been a pioneer and trailblazer in industrial robotics in Europe. For 60 years, these legendary Swedish industrial robots have been helping to automate and advance European industry. Today, ABB industrial robots can be found in most manufacturing plants in Poland, and the company is one of the world’s largest robot manufacturers, offering a vast portfolio of general-purpose models and specialized models for specific processes.

Despite their simple design and the use of proven mechanical solutions refined over decades, ABB robots—like any other equipment—are prone to malfunctions and can cause problems or production stoppages.

 

The lack of regular maintenance has a significant impact on the durability and technical condition of mechanical parts, such as motors, gearboxes, and bearings, and a high number of operating hours can, over time, damage cables or other wear-and-tear components. Electronic failures are also common, as electronics age, and continuous operation in harsh conditions significantly affects the lifespan of components.

We repair most expensive parts for industrial robots; with us, you don’t have to worry about the high cost of purchasing spare parts, because we will first offer you a repair, and only then will we look for used/remanufactured parts in good condition or install new parts directly from the manufacturer.

 

For most malfunctions, we are able to repair spare parts or comprehensively recondition and overhaul the robot. ABB robot service is not just about replacing as many parts as possible with new ones, but rather about keeping robots in the best possible technical condition, anticipating and ensuring that sudden stoppages and unforeseen failures do not lead to irreversible damage and production downtime.

 

We perform repairs on motors for ABB robots. The cost of a comprehensive motor repair, including full mechanical service, cleaning, regeneration or replacement of discs, and replacement of bearings and seals, is several times lower than purchasing a new motor. Repairing an inverter, control computer, electronics, or FlexPendant panel also costs only a fraction of the price of purchasing a new part from the manufacturer.

If a failure has already occurred and there is no time to rebuild the part, we can deliver parts from our warehouse—rebuilt or new.

Our ABB robot service also covers robots from previous generations.

Robots manufactured in the early 2000s and older may no longer be covered by the manufacturer’s technical support. In particular, robots from the S4, S4C, S4CPlus generations, and the first generations of IRC5 may no longer have spare parts available from the manufacturer, which significantly complicates service.

 

We service robots from both current and earlier generations. We have spare parts for older ABB robots, extensive experience in troubleshooting these robots, and are able to repair most components from these generations or provide replacements for certain parts. In the case of computers, inverters, and electronics from these generations—in most cases, repair is the only and best solution, as new spare parts are no longer available, and parts available on the secondary market are not of the highest quality.

 

ABB robots from previous generations are characterized by high mechanical durability, and if they are regularly serviced, they can continue to operate for many more years, provided that consumables and wear parts—such as lubricants, oils, batteries, cables, and bearings—are replaced regularly.

We also handle the replacement of older-generation robots with new ones.

We replace old industrial robots with new models, which extends the service life of entire workstations and production lines while simultaneously upgrading the robot’s hardware.

During robot replacements, we perform:

• a full conversion of the robot’s software and configuration,
• programming corrections, position adjustments, and software modifications,
• modifications or replacement of robot bases, new tool holders, modifications to robot-mounted accessories,
• electrical modifications and complete rewiring of controls and electrical systems,
• disassembly and assembly of robots, disassembly and assembly of controllers,
• commissioning tests.

Periodic Inspections and Maintenance of ABB Robots

We can predict many breakdowns in advance, and many problems can be avoided if you entrust us with the care of your robots.

 

Regular replacement of lubricants, oil, drive belts, and batteries, along with regular cleaning of controllers and, above all, regular and thorough periodic inspections during which we assess the technical condition of the robots and controllers—allow us to reliably predict failures and identify what needs to be addressed in the near future to avoid production downtime.

 

During each periodic inspection, we perform a series of checks and control activities that we have developed based on our many years of experience in servicing ABB robots, troubleshooting, as well as servicing other industrial robots.

Each robot is thoroughly inspected during the service. We analyze its technical condition, the operation of motors, brakes, and gearboxes, the condition of grease or oil in individual gearboxes, the condition of wiring and connectors, check for play in gearboxes and bearings, check for leaks, and verify that oil or grease levels are within normal limits. We also measure the tension of drive belts. During the inspection, we often find faults that could cause malfunctions in the future. 

 

During maintenance, we also service the robot controllers. We clean the cooling system, replace damaged fans and worn-out batteries in the computer. We analyze error messages and logs that have occurred since the last inspection. We check the condition of the connections in the controller, for leaks, the condition of the FPU/TPU panel, as well as the condition of the safety system.

 

During each inspection, we collect new data about the robot and make a copy of the program files and settings. This way, in the event of a failure, if you call us, we can analyze the program on your robot and create a simulation of it—which will help us remotely diagnose the problem and propose a solution.

We resolve some issues on-site, but if extensive work or the ordering of specific parts is required, we will propose corrective actions after the inspection.

 

During inspections, we prepare comprehensive inspection reports that include detailed descriptions of faults, a complete list of tasks with comments, robot and controller data, as well as a series of photos taken during the inspection showing the most significant faults and components that need attention.

You will receive full documentation from us in electronic form, as well as access to your own shared folder on the network drive—assigned to your company. From there, you will always be able to download current backups, as well as all historical service reports.

We maintain and preserve the service history of the robots entrusted to us by our customers. We retain historical files, documentation, and copies of software, and we also have our own database where all inspections and service activities performed on the robots are recorded.
